Caleb
Caleb was born June 20, 2007 weighing 9
lbs. 4 oz. We met Caleb's birth mom, Emily,
in February and quickly formed a
relationship with her. We talked on the
phone and emailed frequently.  We got to
participate in doctor's visits and even got to
be at the ultrasound that determined Caleb
was a boy!   We both got to be there for
his birth. I was in the delivery room and got
to cut the cord. The entire birth family
showed up and they were all so  wonderful
and supportive of Emily. I  stayed in the
hospital in a room right next to Emily and
we shared Caleb for the entire stay. I even
got to breast feed Caleb. Yes it is very
possible! Emily  was so supportive and the
hospital was very  accepting and helpful.  It
was a great experience.

We brought Caleb home and introduced him
to the family. We told very few people that
we were expecting Caleb and caught a lot
of people off guard, including my parents.
Owen has adored Caleb since the moment
we brought him home.  And Caleb loves his
big brother too. Where there is one, I'm
sure to find the other.

Caleb will turn 2 in June.  He is no longer a
shy little baby, but a very adventurous little
boy. He gets into everything and he and
Owen are quite a pair. He loves to dance to
music and is now rocking out with us in the
car. He is turning into a very funny
mischievous little toddler.  Caleb is a happy,
easy going little boy and we love him to
pieces.
We keep in frequent contact with Caleb's birth family. We
have  been down to visit them in Cincinnati, and, Emily and
her family has been invited to our house a few times.  Emily
has seen Caleb's home and meet the rest of our family and
friends. My family got to meet her and see how wonderful
she is. Emily is such a strong, selfless person who is wise
beyond her years and we love her very much.
